The rating plate is the fastest thing you can send us.

Worth having to hand

  • The model number from the rating plate — inside the fresh-food door, upper left frame.
  • What the display is showing, and what a thermometer on a shelf says instead.
  • When it started, and whether it comes and goes with the time of day.
  • Whether the unit is panel-ready or integrated, and how much clearance it has.

None of it is required — a phone number and an address will do. It just means the right part is more likely to be on the van when someone arrives.

  • Our cooler sits under the island and the temperature alarm kept tripping in the night. A worn latch was letting the door drift open a hair. New latch and hinge. Two visits, hence four stars.

  • The ice maker began dumping half-formed slush into the bin. Harvest cycle sticking, and a worn cutter grid. He showed me both parts he pulled out.

  • Freezer column iced over so badly the bottom drawer stopped sliding. Defrost sensor had drifted out of spec, not the sealed system another shop had guessed at. He showed me the readings first.
